Glynn Echerd, DVM
Dr. Glynn Echerd, doctor of veterinary medicine (DVM), is a native Texan and graduated from Texas A&M University in 1986. He has been the owner of Los Altos Veterinary Clinic for over 20 years. His interests are internal medicine, endocrinology, anesthesia, dentistry and general surgery for cats and dogs. Dr Echerd lives near our veterinary clinic in Los Altos with his wife, Margaret. They have three crazy house cats and a white cockapoo. Together, Glynn and Margaret enjoy biking and hiking in the Santa Cruz mountains, traveling and cooking. Dr. Echerd is a past president of the Santa Clara Valley Veterinary Medical Association. A frustrated musician, Dr. Echerd claims he is just doing ‘this vet thing’ while he is waiting to get his ‘big break in rock and roll’.
Kari Kristensen-McCullock, DVM
We are proud to welcome Dr. Kari Kristensen-McCulloch “back home”. She is a Los Altos native and worked in our clinic with Dr. Echerd as a veterinary assistant in the mid 1990’s. After working in a veterinary clinic setting she knew she wanted to be a Veterinarian herself and set sail across the Atlantic to begin school at Liverpool University, earning her degree in 2005.
While oversees, she had a lot of experience in providing care for large farm animals as well as small pets. She came back to the Bay Area in 2010 where she has practiced small animal veterinary care ever since.
Dr. Kristensen-McCulloch is excited to be back at Los Altos Veterinary Clinic and in the community again. When she isn’t working to take care of client’s pets, she is hanging our with her husband and their Golden Retriever (yes, a vet with only one pet!). They enjoy traveling, backpacking, fishing and taking their 1968 Ken Craft trailer out whenever possible!
Amanda joined the Los Altos Veterinary Clinic team in the fall of 2011. The Sonoma County native graduated from Delaware Valley College with a B.S. in animal science in 2007. Amanda has worked with horses most of her life and with small animals for the past 5 years. Amanda enjoys kickboxing and cooking. She likes to run in these wacky races called Tough Mudders where they shock participants with live electrical wires — for fun. She and her husband live in San Jose with their two adorable Boston terriers, Stella and Guinness. Amanda hopes to one day have seven or eight more Bostons.
Sue is originally from Devon, England, but moved to California in 1991 and came to us in October 2015. She lives in Santa Clara with husband Ross and two daughters, Emma and Charlotte. Their family is the proud owner of a Golden Retriever named Tinker and two cats, Devon and Lulu. When not at work Sue loves to spend time sewing, quilting and doing anything crafty, as well as watching movies and cheering at her daughter’s soccer games.
Lauren is the newest Veterinary Nurse to join our team. Growing up, Lauren would join her mother at work while her mother studied veterinary medicine. The exposure to caring for animals as a child made her realize she wanted to pursue a career in the animal health field. Her experience over the past eleven years includes canine and equine training, children’s riding lessons and camp, Animal Regulations officer for Shasta County, and Vet Tech for several hospitals in the Bay Area. She is currently finishing her Veterinary Technician Degree and is also studying business administration in hopes to one day open her own sanctuary and rescue for all animals. In her free time Lauren’s favorite activities include spending time with her Doberman, Luke, horseback riding, camping, hiking, and spending time with her family and friends.
Annette recently moved to the Bay Area in 2015 from Illinois where she graduated with her B.A. in Biology and Neuroscience. She currently works in biotech as well as our veterinary clinic and hopes to begin Veterinary School in the near future. Her family dog Chance lives back home in Illinois and is a wonderful energetic Beagle/Jack Russell mix who she misses very much. Seeing clients and their pets truly brings a smile to her face. In her free time, Annette loves to go camping, hiking, and exploring the great state of California!
Evelyn has always loved animals growing up and this is a dream job! She was born and raised in the Bay Area. Evelyn graduated from Sequoia High School, and currently attend Cal State University, East Bay to obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology. When not loving and caring for the cats and dogs here at Los Altos Veterinary Clinic, she loves being with her own three Chihuahuas. In her spare time, Evelyn likes to BBQ and spend time with family.
We have been bringing our pets to Los Altos Veterinary Clinic for 17 years and love Dr. Echerd and the staff at the clinic and wouldn’t go anywhere else!Pam
