Originally from England, Dr. Maggio qualified from the Royal Veterinary College, London, in 2018. Her background is in mixed practice, treating horses, cats, dogs, goats and other small mammals. After stints at various hospitals including a teaching post at Cambridge University, Dr. Maggio moved to California in 2022, and now lives in the Santa Cruz mountains with her family.

Dr. Maggio practices integrative medicine, which means she looks at a pet’s health holistically. This involves blending allopathic (“western”) medicine with the ancient art of traditional Chinese medicine, to try to get the best of both worlds for her patients. She is also Feline Friendly certified.

In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and hiking with plans to summit Kilimanjaro in October 2027.
